Guess what coincides with the Em-i-lis Canning Demo at Strosniders on July 14? National Can It Forward Day- a day that celebrates canning and preservation. Is this not such a cool concurrence?! All the more reason to fete and can on that Saturday!
In the meantime, I decided to get busy with the pounds of peaches the boys and I bought at the FM on Sunday so just put up a couple pints of brandied peaches, a ridiculously good treat. To prep the peaches, you score a small X into the bottom of each, boil for a minute, shock in an ice bath and then peeling is a snap (see photo 1). Look how gorgeous these are after all that!
